The Podartis company

Podartis has been interested in diabetic feet before anyone else, which is why the company Podartis offers cutting-edge solutions in the field. Their shoes, soles and socks are all meticulously tested in the clinic and in real life to guarantee the greatest benefit for each degree of diabetes, from prevention to the acute phase.

Podartis 'tireless commitment to research, medical and scientific partnerships with the highest authorities in the field and the various patents protecting their shoes testify to Podartis' mission: to help people walk better and enjoy life more.

The story of Podartis

Podartis was created in 2001 in Montebelluna (Italy) and was the result of a research group with a strong specialization in technical orthopedics led by Dr. Buratto, founder of the firm. The research group dates back to 1988 and carried out its first studies on self-fitting shoes, after which it extended its interest to shoes for postoperative treatment and diabetic feet.

Since its creation, the company has invested massively in research and development, working in close collaboration with specialists in the medical and technical sectors to test the shoes produced. Over the years, it has taken important steps:

In 1992, the first post-operative shoe with an expandable unloading outsole.

In 1994, the first global study on shoes for diabetic foot.

In 2003, the introduction of the first self-fitting shoe in Flexpell.

In 2004, the first global research project on shoes for the diabetic foot.

In 2006, the presentation of the biomechanical sole designed to reduce pressure variations during walking.

In 2010, the commendation from the prestigious journal Diabetes Care on the effectiveness of the Stabil D orthosis in the treatment of foot abscesses.

In 2011, clinical trial of “Biomechanics of the diabetic foot” at the Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli (Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute).

In 2012, tests with Italian special operations forces on orthopedic insoles.

In 2011-13, clinical trial on pressure-relieving shoes in the post-surgical phase.

In 2012-2014, clinical trial on therapeutic shoes with the semi-rigid WellWalk® outsole.

These are some of the reasons why today Podartis is considered a major player in Italy for orthopedic shoes. Thanks to its contribution to science and to ongoing European research projects, Podartis enjoys an international reputation as a leading player in the field of orthopedic shoes and soles for "sensitive" feet (diabetics, rheumatics, etc.). )

Today, with three ongoing research projects and all of its product lines clinically tested, Podartis is an international leader in the management and prevention of gait-related disorders.
